Life is an amazing journey - weaving us in and out of relationships. I love that. I love how people cross your path and it just seems meant to be. This is the story of this beautiful family. I was a lifeguard during college - working the 5 am shift, opening the pool at the Jewish Community Center across from college most mornings. A gal would come in most days and swim laps while pregnant with her first child. Both of being extroverts we ended up chit chatting when she would come. One day she asked if I would mind house/dog sitting for them when they were going to the hospital to have the baby. We have been friends ever since. I house/dog sat when their firstborn baby girl was born, then became her babysitter, and was also there when they brought home their second little girl. That second little girl turned 13 last month and is the gorgeous Bat Mitzvah. It has been such an honor to be able to capture both girls' Bat Mitzvahs. The family know lives in Lafayette, California - a gorgeous small town outside of San Francisco.
Sydney did a beautiful job preparing for her day. Her service project has been to spend time with the elderly at a nearby home. She visits them and joins in on games and activities with them. I can just imagine how much they must appreciate a friendly face that's ready to enjoy and lend a listening ear.
What a journey life is! Congratulations, Sydney on your Bat Mitzvah! You are a beautiful young lady full of hope and promise, I wish you the very best in life!
