Bridget is a pediatric nurse, and is a full-time volunteer in Haiti with Friends of the Orphans/Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos. NPH, founded in 1954, has homes for orphaned and abandoned children in nine countries throughout Latin American and the Caribbean. NPH Haiti also has a pediatric hospital, St. Damien, which is free and provides the best pediatric care in the country.

Bridget has been volunteering since August of 2011 at the Angels of Light program, a home built out of shipping containers directly after the January 2010 earthquake. The program houses 200 children, ages 3 months to 16 years, and also offers free education to an additional 600 children from the surrounding community through the Angels of Light School. Children that attend school are fed a midday meal after school is dismissed, which is likely their only food each day. Bridget spent her first 12 months in Haiti teaching Haitian nurses how to run and maintain a clinic at the Angels of Light home. Beginning in September, Bridget also began working at St. Damien Hospital at the request of the oncologists there, and is assisting in the coordination of a Palliative Care program for the children with terminal cancer.
